Workshops at the Butter Factory Denmark WA

Dear Friends of the Butter Factory,

As the end of the year approaches with haste, we would like to wish you all a fabulous festive season and best wishes for a year of creative fulfilment!
To start the year off in 2016, we are thrilled to have Trace Willans back in Denmark running two different workshops  at the Butter Factory in January ...

A mixed-media artist, Trace uses a range of materials with a view to their sustainability and low environmental impact. She experiments with traditional mediums such as casein, egg, starch resists, natural dyes and earth pigments., with very exciting and dynamic results. Her work can be viewed on her blog: www.
http://www.soewnearth.blogspot.com.au/
.  See below for details of the upcoming workshops on the weekend of 16/17 Jan and 24 Jan....

2 Day Plaster and Wax Books Sat & Sunday Jan 16 & 17th 10 - 4

Work with plaster to make pages for a series of small books, in a variety of ways, including openings, niches and as a way to add textural interest. On the first day we

will begin by making many different variations and then we will use the second day to embellish our surfaces, using, e.g. simple handmade paints, collage using rabbit

skin glue, transfers and working with dry pigment. There will be a focus on working with encaustic medium (hot wax). There will be a choice of working in white and

clear wax adding colour to the surface or there will be a range of colours made up for you to play with. This workshop is designed to be as eco friendly as possible so

we will be using only natural materials.

 Cost $200

Materials Fee $15

1 Day Rag Pages Workshop Sunday 24th Jan 10 - 4

Starting with cotton rag, work with traditional gesso, cold wax, simple mark making and xanthorrhoea resin to create pieces that can be framed or made into a simple book.

Cost $100
Materials Fee $10

Teaching in Portugal

How lucky am I  that next year not only to I get to visit my Sister and Father who now live in Portugal but I also get the opportunity to teach there as well.
Tracepromo
I will be at the teaching at the Pink Buddha Art Studio in Lousada, near Porto, for the lovely Linda Chaves.
I am so very excited. All the fabulous details here

We plan on arriving in Barcelona at the beginning of September here I will be able to finally see the works of Gaudi, who I have long admired and then we plan on travelling up to the coast to San Sebastian. From there we hope to see as much of the Spanish north coast as possible then around the corner and down to Porto, where I will be teaching a 5 day eco-dyeing class. And then it will be down towards Lisbon for the family visit before flying back to Oz.

So if anyone has any must see ideas please let me know.

Let the planning begin. So excited
